Grease Traps are a form of waste water pretreatment used by food service establishments to separate out fats, oils and greases from waste water from dishwashers, sinks, floor drains etc. They are designed to intercept the fat, oil & grease (commonly referred to as FOG) by slowing down the flow of the hot water and grease to allow them to separate. The grease flows to the top as the water cools down trapping the grease before entering the sewer system, helping to avoid severe blockages in the drains.
If you have a grease trap on your premises, Johnstown Recycling provide an efficient and environmentally friendly grease removal service.
Internal blockages within the waste pipes and traps of your toilet, bathroom and kitchen are mainly caused by detergents, hair and other things that we never intended to go into the waste water system. This type of blockage can often be cleared with a plunger. If that doesn’t work, a mechanical drain clearing machine can be used in conjunction with a chemical drain cleaning agent.
If you are experiencing a blocked drain right now we can help. Call Johnstown Recycling and we’ll be with you as soon as possible. Phone 086 - 2599 165
Generally, plumbing service professionals recommend that you empty, or “de-sludge,” your septic tank every year. Usually, maintaining a septic tank and system is the responsibility of the property owner where the system is located. For larger families, the septic tank might need to be serviced more often, since there’s potentially more waste to deal with. The frequency of emptying your septic tank might also be determined by its size or what kind of waste goes into it, like grease, oil or chemicals.
The new legislation about septic tank maintenance has now come into effect and County Council led site inspections are in effect.
Johnstown Recycling offer contracts and schedules for emptying septic tanks tailored to meet your individual requirements.
Recycling one glass bottle saves enough energy to power a 100 watt light bulb for an hour or a television for 15 minutes. Glass recycling uses less energy than manufacturing glass from sand, lime and soda.
When glass is used for new container manufacturing, it is virtually infinitely recyclable. The processing and use of recycled glass in manufacturing conserves raw materials, and reduces energy consumption.
If you produce waste glass Johnstown Recycling provide an efficient and environmentally friendly way to solve your problem..
In Vessel Composting
This new method of waste disposal will be more cost-effective than the present system of landfill use. In this regard, Johnstown Recycling has structured its operation so that, not only can the waste be collected from clients' premises - but the company's charges have been held at extremely competitive levels.
The in-vessel system is used for the initial processing of materials within an enclosed environment - so that odours and leachate can be completely contained and controlled, temperatures manipulated and vermin excluded. The Johnstown Recycling in-vessel system utilises a computerised process control system to regulate airflow through the composting tunnels - via a temperature feedback cycle.
Johnstown Recycling is fully licensed to accept food waste, cardboard, green waste and paper - and uses an In Vessel system, which meets all European Union regulations.
Johnstown Recycling provide a brown bin collection service and are one of the leading composting facilities in the Midlands.
Composting is not just about Gardening. It helps our environment and greatly reduces the amount of material that ends up in landfill sites around the country. While we all pay for our bin every week we also end up paying for the new landfill sites or other waste management solutions.
Composting is something that everyone can do with a little time and effort. The results are a cleaner and healthier environment. Everyone knows it's the right thing to do - so get out there and get composting!
